Veterinary Chemotherapy
Cancer Treatments for Pets
Unfortunately cancer is common in pets. And just like in people, cancer treatments are changing and improving as we begin to understand the disease better. Whilst surgery is often the frontline treatment for cancer, many cancers can be managed medically in our pets.
At Burwood & Bay veterinary Hospital we offer chemotherapy protocol services that can extend the length and quality of your pet’s life. Chemotherapy will often form part of the treatment protocol in cancer cases. We perform all chemotherapy on-site using technology that enables safe delivery of the medication for us as well as your pet.
As every patient and every cancer is different we often seek specialist opinions and protocol from oncology specialists and pathologists about what is the best treatment for your pet. We have great relationships with two veterinary specialist oncologists that can assist us in the care of your pet:

Chemotherapy is usually very well tolerated in animals, they do not lose fur their fur like humans lose hair, and tolerate the chemotherapy drugs without nausea.
If you require an appointment to discuss this with one of our vets, please call (02) 9745 2600 to arrange an appointment. We can request any history from other vets to add to our records.
